Rotary Clubs of Taranaki  supporting New Plymouth Riding for the Disabled.

Recently the New Plymouth Riding for the Disabled completed the erection of their new Covered Arena in Alba St New Plymouth and with the combined support of the Rotary Clubs of Taranaki and Rotary District Grants scheme who raised $10,436, the RDA was able to install an internal irrigation system to keep the dust down when the arena is in use.
This is a good example of what can be achieved when Clubs work together for a common goal.
After 48 years operation New Plymouth RDA has now a covered arena and will no longer be required to cancel riding sessions when the weather is inclement. Historically anything up to 20% of sessions have been cancelled each year which causes disruption for riders, parents, caregivers, schools as well as our coaching and volunteer team. The support for the project from local people and organisations has been terrific and we are especially grateful to the Rotary Clubs for funding the sprinkler system.
